Erdogan Compares Netanyahu to Hitler
(MENAFN) Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday harshly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the recent assault on the Hamas negotiation delegation in Qatar, declaring: "Ideologically, Netanyahu is like a relative of Hitler."
He continued, “Just as Hitler could not foresee the defeat that awaited him, Netanyahu will face the same ultimate fate,” while speaking to reporters on his way back from Doha, Qatar, after joining an emergency Arab-Islamic summit following last week’s Israeli air raid.
Erdogan condemned the strike on Hamas mediators as “a blatant challenge to international order and international law,” asserting that Israel’s leadership has “turned their radical mindset into nothing more than a murderous network built on fascist ideology.”
Qatar, alongside Egypt and the United States, has been playing the role of mediator in efforts to halt the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza, where nearly 65,000 individuals have lost their lives since October 2023.
The Turkish president also emphasized that the UN General Assembly’s recent approval of the New York Declaration in support of a two-state solution represents a crucial transformation in the diplomatic arena regarding the Palestinian cause.
Endorsed by 142 nations, Erdogan underscored that the declaration highlights Türkiye’s consistent advocacy for a two-state settlement, which has now become the collective will of the international community.
