Israeli PM Netanyahu Signs on to Board of Peace Before Trump Meeting
Netanyahu signed on as a board member at Blair House, the official guest residence of the US president, during a meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Footage of the signing was shared by media outlets via the social media platform X.
The Board of Peace was initially launched on Jan. 22 when representatives from 19 countries signed its charter during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The initiative was established to support peaceful resolution efforts in Gaza, and Washington has indicated that additional countries have since joined.
The first official meeting of the Board is scheduled to take place in Washington, DC, at the level of leaders invited by the Trump administration. Fundraising for Gaza’s reconstruction is expected to be the primary focus of the gathering.
