Iranian Delegation Leaves Islamabad After US Talks End Without Deal
The delegation was reportedly led by Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and included Abbas Araghchi, along with other senior officials. They departed Pakistan following several rounds of intensive discussions held over recent days.
Reports say the talks, which were conducted in Islamabad under a mediation framework organized by Pakistan, were part of broader diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing ongoing regional tensions and attempting to secure a lasting ceasefire arrangement linked to the wider conflict.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that the negotiations had concluded, while urging both sides to continue honoring existing ceasefire commitments. He also expressed hope that Washington and Tehran would maintain engagement in a constructive manner to promote long-term stability in the region.
According to reports, he reiterated that Pakistan would continue to support dialogue between the two sides and facilitate further diplomatic contact whenever possible.
The US delegation was reportedly led by JD Vance and included senior envoys such as Jared Kushner, alongside other officials. The discussions involved both direct and indirect exchanges, with Pakistani officials playing a mediating role, including senior military leadership such as Asim Munir.
Reports indicate that the US delegation also departed Islamabad after the talks ended, with officials accompanying them to the airport.
