Provided by AGPIn a statement issued Wednesday, the group said footage circulating from Ashdod Port in southern Israel showed detainees being mistreated after their interception in international waters while attempting to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
According to reports, Adalah said the videos depicted activists being assaulted and degraded by prison guards and soldiers after being brought ashore.
Additional footage reportedly shared by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir showed the activists upon arrival at the port.
Separately, Transportation Minister Miri Regev posted a video in which she referred to the detained activists as “terror supporters” and claimed they were “drugged with alcohol,” according to reports.
A TV channel footage also showed detainees kneeling with their hands restrained behind their backs and faces pressed toward the ground while the Israeli national anthem played in the background, further escalating controversy over the treatment of those involved in the flotilla incident.
