Iran’s IRGC Warns Escalation After Strikes on Energy Facilities

(MENAFN) Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated on Monday that Israel has “started a dangerous game” by targeting civilian infrastructure and oil-related industries.

According to state media reports, the IRGC announced that it had responded with a missile strike targeting industrial facilities in Haifa in northern Israel, saying the operation hit “on similar industries” just “a few minutes ago.” The attack was described as retaliation for an earlier Israeli strike on Iran’s Mahshahr petrochemical complex, which took place earlier the same day.

The IRGC also issued a warning that the economic consequences of the ongoing escalation would be “the responsibility of the main arsonist in this field, America.”

Earlier developments included an Israeli airstrike on a petrochemical facility in southwestern Iran, which Iranian officials said caused partial damage to the industrial site.

At the same time, sirens were reported in multiple Israeli cities following missile launches fired from Tehran.
